Employment Tax Services

Legislation in the field of taxes and social-security contributions is in constant flux, and during the last few years this has been accompanied by social uncertainty. You can avoid many problems by actively responding to new developments and by ensuring you comply with the rules.

Specialist knowledge required

Any organisation frequently faces specific issues in terms of payroll tax or social-security contributions, such as new regulations for employees, the employment position of the Director with majority shareholdings, the use of labour from fellow companies, or cross-border labour. There is often not enough in-house knowledge to formulate the optimum solution for these and many other issues. The specialists of our Payroll Tax & Social Security Department (LB/SV) have up-to-date knowledge and offer practical assistance and top-quality advice in this field.

Anticipating future developments

The Payroll Tax & Social Security Department assists in all matters that interface with pensions, taxes and social-security contributions when working inside or outside the Netherlands. Our professionals do this work for a wide range of clients – from private individuals, directors/ major shareholders, foundations and associations to SMEs and large national and multinational companies. Our services are focused on ensuring that you operate a considered policy in terms of payroll tax and social-security contributions; a policy that takes into account the most recent statutory changes, and a policy that always anticipates future developments. To ensure that you benefit from the opportunities and limit the risk of supplementary tax assessments or other problems.

International

Our services explicitly go beyond the Netherlands. We have top-quality expertise in terms of cross-border employment issues and, if necessary, we call on our fellow specialists within our international network.

Our services

In general we provide you with practical assistance in terms of payroll tax and social-security contributions. We can file your returns, advise on your payroll administration or administrate this on your behalf. We can also advise on specific schemes for employees, such as PC-privé (tax refund for PC purchase), expenses, etc.

In other areas too, such as remittance reductions, blocked accounts (G-account), we ensure that you do not have to worry about red tape. Finally, we also assist you in your contacts with the tax authorities: we assist with objections and appeals, support due diligence studies and investigations by the Tax Authorities, and we have discussions with the Internal Revenue Service.

Tax Plan 2012 - changes to the 30% ruling

16 September 2011

Important changes with regard to the 30% ruling are introduced in the Tax Plan 2012, which is published today. The 30% ruling is a concession for foreign employees being assigned to the Netherlands or who are recruited by a Dutch employer from abroad, who have specific expertise which is scarce on the Dutch labor market. Qualifying employees may receive 30% of their wages as a tax-free allowance to cover additional expenses incurred because of their stay in the Netherlands (extraterritorial expenses).
