Cultural Governance Code

Cultural institutions with a public image must render account of the way in which the organisation is managed and controlled. The Cultural Governance Code provides guidelines for the way in which a cultural institution can be managed.

Mazars can help you with:

  • Risk management
Part of governance is the annual performance of a risk analysis, preferably as part of the regular planning and control cycle. Areas of particular attention in this regard are the recognition of risks of (the appearance of) possible conflict of interest and project control. Risk management also contributes to the monitoring of the realisation of the performance agreements made with the grant providers.
  • Control model
The Cultural Governance Code fleshes out practicalities of the control model. In practice however it sometimes proves difficult to configure the allocation of roles between executive board and Supervisory Board to optimum effect. Mazars can act as a sparring partner and share best practices from the sector with you.
