Mazars expands its partner team with Michel Kee and Ruben Freudenthal

1 November 2016 – Mazars has expanded its partner team with Michel Kee and Ruben Freudenthal. With this expansion Mazars invests in the further development of its consultancy services. Kee will focus on strengthening the GRIC practice aligned with development of GRIC in Mazars group. GRIC services are directed at the growing demand for advice and support in the field of Governance, Risk Management, Internal Control and Internal Audit in the public and private sector. Freudenthal will join the Mazars Private Clients practice. The clients that Freudenthal services are primarily high net worth individuals and families, mostly with a background in real estate, retail and production companies.

About Michel Kee

Michel Kee

Michel Kee (1962) started his career at KPMG where he worked for 16 years, both in the financial audit (RA 1989) and consultancy practice. Kee continued ‘in the business’ in international roles: Head Group Internal Audit Heineken (9 years), Director Internal Audit TNT (4 years) and Chief Internal Audit Orpic in Oman (2.5 years). In these roles he worked on establishing and/or transforming internal audit functions and related activities such as risk management, internal control frameworks and compliance/ethics programs. Besides this he was active for 5 years in the Board of the Dutch Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), in the last 3 years as Chairman. Currently Kee is still involved with the IIA as Chairman of the Advisory Board.

About Ruben Freudenthal

Ruben Freudenthal

Ruben Freudenthal (1963) started his career in 1985 as tax adviser within the general tax practice at Deloitte. In 1997 he became partner at Deloitte, where he specialised in Private Client Services and was in charge of the Private Client Services practice at Deloitte. Since 2002 Freudenthal is a Tax Law Professor at the Groningen University, specialising in income tax. He has a broad experience in advising wealthy families, family members and their businesses, and in advising on succession issues, family governance, estate planning, tax planning, investment structuring, emigration and immigration issues, trusts, and charities. He has a broad practical knowledge of real estate. Currently he is a member of the FED tax brochures editorial board.
